Details: This Cold Therapy System got me through my post-op shoulder surgery. I ended up using one frozen 16.9 ounce bottle each session because 6 bottles were too cold. Even then, I had to place a towel under the pad. I am so glad I had this though and plan on ordering the alternate pads for knee, hand, etc.

Details: I bought this for my husband's upcoming surgery. He isn't a fan of pills and pain medication. This was a blessing and a godsend to aid in his pain management and recovery. Made my life much easier and bearable. I just wish I knew about this about 15 years ago when I ruptured my Achille's tendon.

Details: The Active Ice 3.0 with Digital Timer was a total success in helping my mother's shoulder replacement post-surgery pain. She was plugged into this unit for the first 10 days and we used 5 frozen water bottles and changed them out approx., every 8-10 hours. Caution: the unit is heavy to carry when full from kitchen to bedroom to living room. The digital timer is a GREAT feature that helps patient caregivers!

Details: I recently had rotator cuff surgery and the doctor prescribed a professional cold compression therapy machine. Unfortunately, the insurance company would only pay for a 1-month rental ($600 per month). I purchased the 9qt Active Ice 3.0 cold therapy system and it was an absolute life saver to manage my pain which was and is severe. I took a chance and purchased this machine and to my surprise works every bit as good as the $3500 professional unit. Although it does not provide compression, the cold by itself works wonders at controlling the pain. The one downside is you have to add ice which the pro machine does not require. I put 4 frozen water bottles in and get about 6 hours of cold relief which is very manageable. I am continuing to use it to get thru the discomfort of physical therapy. If you don’t want to rely on addictive opioids, this is the best money you will ever spend. BTW, it is much quieter than the pro machine. Thank you Polar for providing a great product and an affordable price.

Details: I love this product! Being able to set the timer and having cold therapy throughout the night without having to get up was fantastic. Such an improvement over having to get up to replace an ice pack every hour or 2. The only downside for me was the difficulty of mobility once it was in place. Because I had rotator cuff surgery and could only use one arm, I could not attach the shoulder pad by myself and needed help. So, if I needed to get up in the middle of the night rather than late un-strapping everything, I just disconnect the power and carried the cooler with me to the bathroom! From an engineering perspective a big improvement might be using braided rubber hose for more flexibility, rather than the plastic tubing which tends to be rather rigid. Of course, I am certain that would make the product more costly however it might be an upgrade option worth considering. I am very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to others.

Details: I bought this right after my shoulder surgery and so glad I did. We fill it with water and put frozen water bottles in and it makes some awesome cold-water flow through! It cools evenly and I believe helped my healing speed up. My MIL had knee surgery a week after I had my shoulder surgery, so we took one to her. She is in LOVE! After using it one full day, did even better in therapy and her pain is so much less! Thank you!

Details: My 19-year-old son, a college football player, busted up both this shoulders at practice and tore his labrum. He went through surgery on his first shoulder and will need to go through surgery on his second one once he has time to recover. The Doctor suggested to rent an ice machine to help with pain management after his surgery. We researched and found Polar Products. I have to say, the product works as designed and works very well at that! No leaks, no issues, timer works perfectly. We use frozen bottles along with some cold water and the unit keeps it cold and running for about 8 hours at a time. Strongly recommend this product!
