This presents a huge educational challenge for us: how easy would it be to produce just one or two technologies, then claim they are good for all applications?

There is an old saying: "If all you have is a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail to you”…but this is not so! Too many manufacturers produce cooling systems based on only one or two types of cooling technologies, and then claim that their (un-patented and commonplace) technology is the best available and good for all needs. This is just not true!

The fact is, there are five different major cooling technologies used in vests and garments and each has its advantages, limitations and cost considerations. There are a couple of other "hybrid” technologies that combine two of these basic technologies. Polar Products is unique in that we are the the only manufacturer world-wide that manufactures all five of these technologies! This allows us the unique perspective to honestly explain the advantages and limitations of each!
