The Active Ice® Extended Coverage Hip Therapy Pad: 12.5" x 22.5" therapy pad includes one detached 7" x 44" and one 3" x 44" elastic and Velcro belts. Designed to provide excellent coverage for the left hip or right hip, but can also be used for the back or limbs. Pad is especially effective when laying on it or sitting on it, but it can also can be secured to the desired area. Often recommended by doctors for pain management and to promote healing after hip surgery.

The Active Ice® 3.0 System can be cold enough, under certain conditions, to injure the skin.

Caution: use of cold therapy by children, diabetics, incapacitated patients, and those with poor circulation or special skin conditions should be carefully supervised by a medical professional.
Use only as prescribed by a licensed healthcare practitioner and follow all of his or her instructions regarding the frequency and duration of cold therapy, proper temperature, how and when to check the skin, and length of treatment.

Details: Added the hip pad to the machine after hip replacement and it has been wonderful. The ability to have on 10 min., then off 10 minutes overnight is a great feature.

Details: I love this new pad which I used with my ice machine after a total left hip replacement. I originally purchased the ice machine 1-1/2 yrs. ago when my 95 yr. old husband had a knee replacement. I bought the original ice machine with a knee pad never imagining I would need a new hip. If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought the back pad instead as it is more flexible for other joint issues.

"Keeping the swelling down"

Details: The pad is large and is effective at covering the entire area around the hip incision. Reducing swelling greatly speeds healing and recovery. We used 2- 1 gallon jugs 3/4 full of water, frozen them and then swapped them as needed. They keep the unit cold for many hours with no mess. Make sure to position the hose properly to avoid kinking it and reducing the water flow.

Polar's obligation under this warranty is limited to the replacement or repair of any defective part(s) of this product. If you have a problem with your Active Ice® 3.0 System, please call Polar's customer service at 1.800.763.8423 to obtain a Returned Goods Authorization number (RGA#).

Please note: Due to health and hygiene regulations, all Active Ice® 3.0 Cold Therapy pads and accessories that are used and/or have had water circulated through them are non-returnable. Brand new/unused therapy pads and accessories may be returned with a 15% restocking fee, within 30 days of the initial purchase. Call Polar to arrange.
