Details: I had at TKR 6 weeks ago and I started off with a borrowed/used ice machine (another brand) which got me through the first 2 weeks post-op however, it was a very old and antiquated. I needed an upgrade fast! This brand/model was recommended by Dr. Samantha Smith, PT and I couldn't be happier! Coming from what I had to this was like magic! In fact, I'm so pleased, I will purchase other body part accessory wraps for future needs. I highly, recommend this product. You will grateful you made the (lifetime) investment.

Details: I got the ice machine for after knee replacement. Best part is the the selective on/off controller that cycles the machine. Can then use it all night long.

Details: I bought this ice machine after fracturing my tibia plateau in a biking accident. In order to reduce swelling after daily physical therapy I use it to my entire satisfaction and can recommend it to everyone.

Details: Works well. Remote with on off feature is great. Full circumference pad is big, but early on after my knee replacement my leg was so swollen that it wouldn't wrap completely around my thigh. The Y spliter hose with a second full circumference pad work well to cover upper and lower part of my leg as the swelling went from my upper thigh to my ankle. Overall a good product and worth the cost.

Details: The Polar ice machine really reduces pain after completing a rehab on my total left knee replacement. A week after the operation I can do 3 rehab sessions per day.

Details: I waited until the surgery recovery to write this to ensure full satisfaction. I used another product with a prior surgery that worked well too but the REAL difference in the Polar Active Ice machine is the handheld controller and the ability to set on and off cooling periods. It is easy to set up, has a digital display that identifies the cooling level and the time remaining on each cycle. It made a huge difference as opposed to having to turn other products on and off.

Details: 2 weeks post TKR today. My Active Ice machine has been my constant companion. I just rotate in my stash of frozen water bottles and I can ice my knee all day long. Has helped with swelling and I’m able to use fewer narcotics. The 9 quart is nice and portable but still packs a powerful punch.

Details: Don't know how I would have gone through my first and hopefully only knee replacement without this ice machine. It would have been SO much more difficult. We did as advised by Randi (I believe that is her name) and used frozen water bottles instead of ice to keep the water cold. I adjusted the timer to 20 min. on and 30 min off then just let the machine do it's magic. I believe this wonderful little machine made what is a pretty difficult surgery a much easier experience.

Details: It helps a lot with pain. Reasonably priced, too. I wish it had an ice block that you could freeze so you didn’t have to take 6 bottles in and out if the freezer. I would purchase that so it would stay frozen longer and wouldn’t be as messy. Also would improve on the Velcro straps and have it built in to the sleeve. And make the disconnect up closer so it isn’t so long to walk around.
