I am currently under the treatment of a physician who has prescribed or recommended a water-circulating cold therapy system, such as the Polar Active Ice® System. I agree to read and use this product in accordance with all instructions, warnings and cautions in the Active Ice® Instruction Manual and/or the instructions given to me by my treating physician. Cryotherapy should not be used by persons with Raynauds, Diabetes or other vasospastic disease, cold hypersensitivity, or compromised local circulation. Always consult with your healthcare provider. I acknowledge that I will assume all responsibility for the use/misuse of this cold therapy product. I will contact my physician immediately in the case of any untoward reactions caused by use of this system. I will not use this system if I am Diabetic or suffer from poor circulation or neuropathic (nerve) disorders.

The Design:

  • Specifically designed to deliver drug-free pain relief after injury or post-surgery, when serious pain relief is required!
  • Whisper-quiet, high-efficiency pump circulates cold water throughout the therapy pad.
  • Customize your cold therapy on and off cycles with the programmable timer and temperature flow control.
  • Our cooling reservoirs will hold more ice or frozen water bottles than competitors, which will lengthen the duration of cold therapy before needing to add more ice or swapping out your frozen water bottles. With twice the reservoir size allowing for twice the ice/frozen water bottle capacity as our biggest competitors, Active Ice® will get you through the night!
  • Try frozen water bottles instead of ice! Our large cooling reservoirs allow for the use of frozen water bottles which is an easy and convenient alternative to ice. They are reusable and can be easily swapped out with an extra set from the freezer once thawed, eliminating the need to drain melted water. This is also a big help for the caregiver. The 9-quart cooling reservoir holds up to six (6) 500 ml frozen water bottles and the 16-quart cooling reservoir holds up to twelve (12) 500 ml frozen water bottles.
  • Convenient on/off button on the programmable timer eliminates any potential danger from fumbling in the dark to plug-in or unplug your system.
  • The cooler lid on the system is hinged and snaps in place, keeping it properly sealed. No mess!
  • The therapy pad is optimized to provide comfortable cold therapy to the desired body part while providing gentle compression. The insulated outer fabric directs maximum cold therapy to the target area.
  • Comfortable and easy to reuse time and time again; simply add ice and water to the cooler!
  • High-flow, dry, quick-disconnect couplings allow for freedom of movement, if needed.

The Programmable Timer & Adjustable Temperature Flow Control (Patent-Pending):

The Active Ice® System includes our patent-pending timer that allows you to set custom cold therapy "on" and "off" duration cycles, so you can specifically follow your healthcare provider's instruction on the proper and safe use of cold therapy. Treatment duration times can be set in ten-minute increments, up to 990 minutes, for either "on" or "off."

Never worry about the safety concerns of falling asleep with the system on. Our timer will cycle "on" and "off" per the set times, for as long as desired. This ensures safe, convenient and effective cold therapy treatment, perfect for post-surgery pain management and relief, day or night. In addition, the control allows the user to choose from 4 coldness levels depending on the user's comfort and desire. This is a critical safety and convenience feature! (Compare this to many of our competitors, which have no timer, no coldness control and even no on/off switch... systems must be unplugged after each use!)

Details: I have been using the double cold therapy system for a partial knee replacement on both of my knees. I was worried the system might have issues with a split into two separate pads, but the system has worked like a charm. Water is easily pumped to both pads simultaneously with no issues whatsoever. Details: I purchased this machine to use after my bi-lateral knee replacement surgery. I seriously do not know what I would do without it! I was so happy to find a machine that would allow me to ice both knees at once. I am 1 week post-surgery and use it every day for 20 min intervals around the clock. The unit is small enough to easily move around, fairly quiet and very well made. Even after the ice melts during the night the water stays cold enough to continue to use.

We use the dual footsie booties and the dual universal bladders (shoulders/knees) and they are wonderful. The rectangular bladder is great for hip and back. Details: This is a really good/effective system. The ability to treat both knees at once is nice. Everything works as advertised. However, I wish that the system could be turned on without having to use the 30 minute timer. After the timer has gone off, the knees begin to warm up and then ache, which is not good when you are trying to sleep (the pain wakes you up). Still, for the relief that you get when using the system, it's well worth the money.

Polar Products Inc. warrants that this product is free from defects in workmanship, materials and fitness for use, for one year from initial purchase under normal use for which it was intended. Polar's obligation under this warranty is limited to the replacement or repair of any defective part(s) of this product. If you have a problem with your Active Ice® 3.0 System, please call Polar's customer service at 1.800.763.8423 to obtain a Returned Goods Authorization number (RGA#).

Please note: health regulations prohibit us from accepting returns on used cold therapy systems. If there is a problem with its operation (as covered by the warranty), and the system is within its 180-day warranty period, it will be repaired at no charge. Unused systems may be returned with a 15% disassembly, inspection and restocking fee, within 30 days of the initial purchase. Call Polar to arrange.
